If you aren’t already in the mood for an adventurous roadtrip, one quick flip through this fun and well-curated volume will certainly change that.  Through diary entries, captivating photography, and scraps of travel memorabilia, Orr transports the reader back to 1973, through the fields of central Europe, and into the heart of Persia in a Glasgow school bus.  It was a 11,500 mile trip – no longer possible given recent political events – and now serves as a wonderful flashback for both 70s nostalgics and archaeological wanderers alike.  The leg of the trip into Iraq via Syria is particularly interesting, though it does leave the reader wishing for simpler times…
